La Cuisine Cookware and the Élysée Range


State of the Art Technology : Our cookware is produced using the latest technology in cast iron. We have moved production away from traditional floor-casted products in favour of the DisaMatic production method. Each La Cuisine casserole is produced using sand moulds, which are used only once.

The advantages of this production method are many, including a better, more uniform casting. Also, as every single piece has it's own mould, it is the case that every single piece of La Cuisine cookware is truly unique

Design: Product design is by the much-lauded and award-winning Marcus Notley, a graduate of the College of Art and Design. Aesthetically beautiful , with gorgeous deep colours which are guaranteed to elicit many compliments, the Élysée series is widely acknowledged as being of great design. That said, function was at the forefront when we began the process of creating a range of world class cast iron cookware.

Energy Efficient: Cast Iron only requires low to medium settings and retains heat very well.

Durable: A good quality Cast Iron pot can be expected to last a lifetime. It can easily withstand the wear and tear associated with modern cooking. It is not delicate and, in terms of maintenance, requires only the minimum of effort. It is not unusual to find a cast iron pot that has been passed down through generations.

Versatile: Cast Iron is suitable for just about anything when it comes to cooking. It lends itself to grilling, sautéing and is perfect for those dishes which require slow cooking, either on the hob or in the oven. Moreover, it's suitable for all hob types, including induction.

Safe: Cast Iron is intrinsically safe and, even at high temperatures, doesn't emit any dangerous toxins. It also retains its composition and shape under extreme conditions, unlike some softer materials.

Design features



›The handles are quite unique. They have a wide-angle wedge profile that provides a superb, secure and natural hand grip.


›The casserole lids have 3 stepped ridges. These collect (flavoured) steam droplets and cause them to gather, drop and disperse back into the food being cooked.

This ensures that the food stays moist and improves flavour.

 

›The inside of the pots have a large radius corner to ensure that there are no food traps.

 

›The bases of our casseroles are slightly thicker than the side walls. This helps to create a more even distribution of heat across the floor of the pots.

›The low slung sides of the roaster allow for efficient vapour release, ensuring the perfect roast at all times. Similarly, the low sides on the grill pan result in very efficient grilling.
